SUMMARY:Solidarity with Immigrants in Maine - Capital Area New Mainers Project
DESCRIPTION:Jon Godbout\, Executive Director of Capital Area New Mainers Project (CANMP)\, will discuss community-building efforts in solidarity with immigrants in central Maine. This discussion will cover the work of fostering intercultural community connection\, supporting education and learning\, providing safe\, affordable housing\, promoting community engagement\, and protecting human rights. Members of the UMA community have made important contributions to these efforts\, and we will discuss how we can continue to build community together. \nJoin in the discussion in the Farber Forum or over Zoom. \nRefreshments will be provided for in-person attendees. \nSponsored by the President’s Council on Transforming Lives.
