DESCRIPTION:Join an enriching conversation in French with renowned researcher and storyteller Jean-Claude Redonnet\, author of Madlin Leblanc: la jeune Acadienne de Falmouth\, Maine. The discussion will focus on his work\, its historical and cultural context\, and the enduring Acadian presence in Maine. \nThrough the character of Madlin Leblanc\, Jean-Claude Redonnet brings to life the journey of a young Acadian woman grappling with issues of identity\, language\, family\, and resilience on the coast of Maine. The book explores the lasting impact of Acadian history and brutal displacement\, as well as the power of cultural transmission between generations. Rooted in rigorous historical research and a strong sense of place\, the novel sheds light on a defining chapter in Maine’s Francophone heritage while giving voice to a deeply human story. \nThe event will take place on March 28 at 3 p.m. at the Â鶹APP\, Randall Student Center\, Fireside Lounge. \nA $5 registration fee is required for this event. Participants are encouraged to register in advance. Attendees may also pay on site with cash or a credit card. The event is free for Alliance française members.
