This event is hosted by the Bangor SGA.

Event Options

Students may only attend one session. If you register for the 12/9 or 12/11 session, you must be present to receive your gift.

A confirmation email with the Zoom link and details will be sent before your selected session.

In order to be on the ballot, candidates must meet/complete the following before 12:00 PM on Friday, September 12, 2025:

  • meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the SGA Constitution
  • submit a Candidacy Form to the Office of Student Life
  • collect at least 15 signatures from currently enrolled UMA students (via issued form)

Jemima George – SGA President

Jemima, from Nigeria, is a junior in the Justice Studies program, minoring in Psychology and Mediation.

“As the former Public Relations Coordinator for the Student Government Association, I collaborated closely with Student Life to promote events and initiatives. I strived to be present at all meetings and activities, ensuring effective communication and fostering relationships. This role allowed me to share student voices and improve campus engagement.â€

The President is responsible for presiding over SGA and Executive Board meetings, overseeing the management of the budget, appointing members to committees and the General Assembly, and speaking on behalf of the student body of his/her campus.

Fray Bennett - Activities Coordinator

Fray Bennett – Activities Coordinator

Fray (they/them), from Newport News, VA, is a sophomore in the Mental Health and Human Services program.

“I served in the Army for 22 years coordinating events for Soldiers and their families on a routine basis.â€

The Activities Coordinator is responsible for the planning, developing and promoting varied activities and events that benefit the student body, and assessing the effectiveness of these activities.

Nicholas, who resides in Lewiston, is currently a junior in the Mental Health & Human Services program.

“I’ve walked through hardship and emerged stronger, and I know the power of resilience, empathy, and real change. As your student body representative, I will listen, advocate, and fight for your voice to be heard. Together, we can build a community where everyone belongs. Your story matters-let’s make it count!â€

Student Body Representatives are responsible for attending SGA, GA and committee meetings, aiding in the planning, promotion and delivery of SGA-sponsored activities and events.

Gail Dietz-Sola - Student Body Representative

Gail Dietz-Sola – Student Body Representative

Gail, a native from the Los Angeles suburbs who has lived all over, is a junior in the Interdisciplinary program, minoring in Sociology.

“I have advocated for people here in Augusta on the CCSM and by assisting at a recovery center here in Augusta since being here in Maine since April of 2022.  I am interested in helping everyone in our community to have a voice.â€

Mandy McCann – President

Mandy, from Glenburn, is a junior studying Secondary Education with a concentration in English. 

“I have been apart of the student government for the last 3 years holding various positions. I would be honored to serve the student body as their president and advocate for the things they truly want changed on campus and be a voice for the studentsâ€

Britney Toner - Vice President

Britney Toner – Vice President

Britney, from Brewer, is a first-year in the Biology program with a minor in Psychology.

“I am just completing my first year at UMA in the Biology program and have served as the Executive Secretary this year on the Bangor SGA. I would love to move up next year to serve the Bangor students in the Vice President role.â€

The Vice President is responsible for presiding over SGA and Executive Board meetings in the absence of the President, maintaining an inventory list of all SGA property, and auditing the SGA budget.

Janet Bradberry - Student Body Representative

Janet Bradberry – Student Body Representative

Janet, from Bangor, is a junior in the Mental Health and Human Services program, minoring in Philosophy.

“I have actively participated in various community organizations, where I organized events and facilitated discussions, fostering collaboration among peers. My passion for student engagement drives my desire to serve as a student body representative, ensuring that all voices are heard and contributing to an engaging school community.â€

Are you a student or staff member associated with student government at University of Maine Augusta? American Student Government Association is holding a one day conference in Boston, Massachusetts on Saturday, September 7th.

The General Assembly has allocated for up to 15 registrations fees to be covered for those interested in attending this conference. All other expenses must be covered by the individual, campus, or center.

The selection of people attending this conference will be done during the General Assembly meeting held on Tuesday June 11th in the Fireside Lounge on the Augusta campus or at 10:30 AM. If you are a student at one of UMA’s Centers and would like voting rights, please contact Heidi Toner prior to the start of the meeting.

The deadline to apply for this opportunity is June 7th, 2024.
