UMA Rockland to Host Meeting on Growing and Diversifying Maine’s Economy | June 27th

UMA Rockland CenterOn Thursday, June 27 from 7:30 – 9:30am, the UMA Rockland Center will host a meeting organized by the University System and Maine’s Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) to foster discussion of Governor Mills’ 10-year economic road map to grow and diversify Maine’s economy.

The UMS and DECD are hosting several meetings statewide and chose the Rockland community as a key location. This session will focus on regional considerations and solutions to achieve 3 key goals: increase the value-added contribution of each job; grow the annual median wage; and, build the size of the workforce.

Community members are encouraged to attend to advocate for the importance of investments in human capital, research and workforce development.

(use code 246).

The UMA Rockland Center is an important access point for local higher education. Located on the 4th floor of the Breakwater Building at 91 Camden Street, Rockland, it enrolls over 500 university students every semester.
